Music Studies Program Overview
If you want a career in music, Ashland University’s Bachelor of Arts in Music provides thorough musical training within the context of a liberal arts education.
Time to Complete
The program combines music studies with general education and liberal arts courses. Required courses include music performance, history, literature, music theory and aural skills. Depending on your career objectives, you can select elective courses in performance, music theory or history.
This degree program offers:

- Experience performing with Ashland University’s bands or choirs
- The opportunity to travel on a domestic or international tour
You can orient your studies toward music or music education. If you choose music, you can finish your degree in three or four years.
Admission to the Music program requires an entrance audition, which also determines the recipients of talent-based scholarships.
