Steps to Apply
Transcripts
First-year students – Submit your official high school transcript.
Transfer students – If you’ve completed fewer than 30 semester hours of college credit, please submit your official high school transcript. Otherwise, submit official transcripts from every college where you’ve taken courses.
Test Scores
Sending ACT, CLT or SAT scores is optional for all majors except Nursing.
Students who have already applied or been admitted to AU may schedule ACT testing through the AU Testing Center.

You have options! Begin with Ashland on a Tour to explore campus, get a feel for our community, and see what life at Ashland is like—then choose the type of personal visit that’s right for you.
Steps to Enroll
FAFSA
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and send your information to AU by using school code 003012.
Deposit
Secure your place by submitting your enrollment deposit.
Enrollment Forms
Complete the enrollment forms.
Orientation
Attend Summer Orientation.
Reactivating Students
Former students are welcome to return and study at Ashland University; simply complete and submit the reactivation application form. Be sure to list any colleges or universities you have attended while you’ve been away. Please request official transcripts from these institutions to be sent to our Admissions Office.

Admission FAQs
Ashland University now offers three admission options: early decision, priority decision and regular admission. Learn more about each option.
All undergraduate programs except for nursing are test optional.
Undergraduate Nursing Program
To be considered for admission into our undergraduate nursing program, you must meet one of the following:
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- GPA of 3.0–3.49 AND an ACT score of 20 or higher
All Other Undergraduate Programs
To be considered for admission into any of our other undergraduate programs, you must meet one of the following:
- GPA of 2.85 or higher
- GPA of 2.5 or higher AND an ACT score of 18 or higher
Yes! You can use our Transfer Credit Calculator to see how your CCP credits may apply toward your degree at Ashland University. While results are unofficial, they provide a helpful preview before you apply. For an official evaluation, submit your transcripts through the admissions process.

For all of our students who live outside of a 35-mile radius from campus, you will be required to live on campus all four years.
Your academic advisor will schedule your first fall semester classes for you! Once you are accepted, you will fill out your class pre-registration form. That is how your academic advisor will know what classes to place you in!
If you have completed any post-high school college credits, you are a transfer student!
If you are a graduating senior in high school or have not previously completed any college credits post-high school, you are considered a first-year student!
