Learning at Every Stage of Life
eAshland is dedicated to the development and implementation of non-credit training and certificates, professional learning opportunities, and the growth of for-credit distance, hybrid, and technology enhanced instruction. By removing structural barriers, we promote the growth and diversity of the community at Ashland University. By providing unique educational experiences for learners from high school through retirement, we foster a culture of life-long learning.
Core Values
To carry out our mission, we offer exceptional programming and tailored support services, centered on the following core values:
- We are STUDENT-CENTERED. Our students are fundamental to all that we do, so every decision and action contributes to our students’ learning experiences.
- We are SERVICE-ORIENTED. We provide exceptional service for our students, clients, and each other.
- We are QUALITY-DRIVEN. Students learn best when they are engaged, challenged, and supported, and we seek to provide an optimal combination of those factors throughout all our program offerings.
- We are INNOVATIVE. We constantly search for the most effective ways to serve and engage our unique student populations and to do so, we encourage forward- thinking, creativity, and initiative.
The College Credit Plus dual enrollment program allows students to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses at Ashland University. CCP boosts college readiness and postsecondary success. Accepted students can take classes on AU's main campus, online, or at partnering high schools.
Prior Learning Assessment allows students several ways to obtain credit for experiences outside the traditional classroom. These PLA options include credit by exam, military credit, Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy credit, industry-recognized business credentials and prior learning portfolio assessment.
AU has been approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education to offer distance education across state lines. Participating institutions agree to operate within policies and guidelines noted in the NC-SARA manual, including annual data reporting.
