First-Year Move-In Schedule

Friday, Aug. 23

We are excited to welcome you to campus, Future Eagle! Students should check in at their building and receive their keys during their designated window of time but will be able to continue moving belongings into the room after that time. Movers & Shakers will be waiting for you in the parking lot to assist with unloading belongings and getting them to your room. There will be staff members stationed in the parking lots and near the buildings who can direct you to where to park your car(s) after unloading all your belongings.

While we understand that things happen and schedules change at the last moment, it is very important that you arrive during your designated move in time. Parking lots for move-in will be very high traffic areas; arriving outside of your designated move in time will interrupt the flow of traffic and cause delays.

If you are unable to arrive on campus during your designated move in time, please contact the Office of Residence Life as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made.

Early Arrivals

If you are part of an organization, group or team arriving early, your group contact will be in communication about your arrival date. All Early Arrival groups will need students to complete an "Early Arrival Application" found at housing.ashland.edu under "Forms." You will receive email confirmation when your request is approved. If you have been approved for Early Arrival, this is the date we will plan for you to arrive on campus. You still need to fill out an Early Arrival Application even if you are coming to campus with a team. Failure to fill out an Early Arrival Application at least 5 days prior to your arrival date will result in a $50 late fee.

If you need to move into your room on campus early for personal reasons, not as a part of a team or organization, you can complete the "Early Arrival Application" at housing.ashland.edu under "Forms." Applications are due at least 5 days prior to the requested arrival date. Personal requests will be charged a $25.00 per day rate. Students arriving to campus for personal reasons can arrive as early as Monday, Aug. 19. Early arrivals for personal reasons will not be permitted prior to this date. The Office of Residence Life reserves the right to deny your requested arrival date based on campus construction and room availability. We will work with you in these circumstances. Failure to fill out an Early Arrival Application at least 5 days prior to your arrival date will result in a $50 late fee.

Early Arrival check-in locations will be primarily through the Office of Residence Life unless otherwise arranged with your organization.

Early Arrival Parking

As an early arrival, you will receive your parking permit when you check in. If it is not with your room key, please stop by Safety Services, located on the first floor of the Hawkins Conard Student Center, to pick up your parking pass. If you plan to park on campus, you are required to register your vehicle. Unregistered vehicles will be ticketed.

Your registered vehicle will need to be parked in your assigned lot. Parking policies will be enforced on campus beginning Aug. 5. As a reminder, faculty/staff lots are not to be parked in during the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. If you are parking in these restricted lots during those hours, you will very likely receive a parking violation.

Always direct parking questions/concerns to Safety Services. We are not responsible for inaccurate information provided to you from other sources. For more information on registering your vehicle, parking policies and parking lot maps, visit www.ashland.edu/parking-campus.

Please feel free to contact us at reslife@ashland.edu if you have any questions regarding residential matters. If you have decided not to attend Ashland University in the fall, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible.
