Course Description:

The goals of this online course will be to build awareness of three topics of major significance in ocean science research today and to highlight their societal importance in the future: ocean and human health, seabed mapping, and aquaculture.

The course will consist of a three-part seminar series over three weeks with emphasis on three major ocean and sea issues of relevance to educators on both sides of the Atlantic. The course is designed by and for educators at both informal and formal education institutions, for all ages and at all student grade levels. It also aims to attract scientists, graduate students.  business and government personnel and any other interested citizens. The target audience will be trans-Atlantic centric, seeking participation from US and Europe as well as Canada and South America. However, all interested persons are invited to participate. The cost is free of charge unless a participant seeks one graduate credit., which is optional.
